This work is a video poem form with words and black and white photo which contributed to my passed grandfather.
He passed away at 2007.06.18 because of lung cancer. I still remember the day is raining, I was in art class painting in oil paint. My teacher showed up and said I have to go. At that point I knew something bad happened. My world shattered at that time.
I don’t celebrate birthday since then, my birthday just next to the day he passed away. I often get comfort that he chose to pass one day earlier that I won’t be that sad. But it still shocked me.
He is the one who take care of me instead of my busy parents. And the whole family is not the same anymore. I feel aline all the time; after 5 years, I started a different way tp celebrate my birthday, I pretent to eat with him, with two pairs of tableware, order two seats and start to talk to him. Talking about how this years goes, talking about how is grandma and talking about how much I miss him.I can’t feel him anymore,but he definitly is somewhere near me.
